That Have Hosted Ron Keine

It was a true pleasure to meet Ron. My student cast felt very connected to him. Everyone in the audience loved Ron - they gave him a standing ovation.

Quote: "Inviting a speaker from Witness to Innocence to our campus was an invaluable part of our DEAD MAN WALKING School Theatre Project. Mr. Ron Keine brought an often humorous but always human and personal perspective to the topic of the death penalty. My students' understanding of this issue has been profoundly deepened by the words and experiences of this man."

The talk, I think went very well. It was fairly well attended, and was incredibly moving. I can also say that Ron is an amazing guy. A lot of people from SLA had a wonderful time after the talk hanging out with him, and Erin and I really enjoyed our time with him before the talk.

Some thoughts on the talk:

Ron Keine's talk on the modern death penalty was equally enlightening, heart-breaking, and enraging. I was shocked at what had happened to him and to others in the same situation. No one can support capital punishment on any grounds after such a presentation of facts.

Feel free to publish the above if you wish.

Thank you so much for making this event possible. I hope that SLA and Amnesty can have Ron (or another speaker) some time in the near future for another event.

Sincerely, Rob

Note Ron also got a standing ovation for this speach as he did at UCLA a week before
